Volunteer Orientations

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our shelter, located in Olympia, WA.  Volunteers must be able to commit to at least 4 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months, as we do not have the resources to accommodate short-term volunteers.  Below is information on our volunteer orientations, which are held at the shelter.  Upcoming orientations are posted on this page, Facebook and Twitter.

**Reservations are required for all orientations.  Please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 352-2510 x1009 or email her to make a reservation–leave your name and number.  If you are making the reservation for more than one person, include their name and number, too.**

General Volunteer Orientation (lasts 75 minutes)
Please press F5 on your keyboard to refresh this page for the most current information.

At this time, we have the following volunteer needs:

Dog and Cat Room volunteers who are available during our weekday hours (Tuesday-Friday from 9:30am-5:30pm).  You do not need to be available all day, just at some point during those hours.

This orientation is on Thursday, May 11 at *4:00 pm.

When we have openings for Saturday volunteers or for other positions, we will schedule an orientation for that group.

Foster Home ONLY Orientation (lasts 30 minutes)

1 session on Thursday, May 11 at *5:30 pm

*We are unable to allow late entry into an orientation. If you are not able to make it to the beginning of an orientation, please come to another session. Children under 14 must be accompanied by their adult volunteer partners at all times.

If after the orientation you feel that volunteering would be a good fit for you, please submit a volunteer application. (Applications are handed out at the orientation.)

It takes a couple weeks to process your application and background check. We will then contact you to schedule your training or home check for fostering.
