Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Animal Services, located in Olympia, WA.  Below is information on our online foster home and volunteer orientation presentation.

If you need access to view the orientations, the Timberland libraries have free Wi-Fi and their computers have headsets.  You can find their locations and hours at https://www.trl.org/locations.

Shelter Volunteers must be able to commit to at least 4 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months, as we do not have the resources to accommodate short-term volunteers.

Foster Home Orientation

Thank you for wanting to foster; we’re excited to have you join us.  Below are the steps for becoming a foster home.

• • Go to http://bttr.im/ow31o  and complete the information inquiry form

• • You will then get an email with a link to the online foster home orientation.
    • KEEP THAT EMAIL!  It has all of the steps and links you’ll need for the onboarding process.
    • This email will come from “MyImpactPage.com <postmaster@volunteer2mail.com>”, so please check your spam folder if you don’t see the message in your mailbox.

• • After watching the orientation and answering the follow-up questions, there will be a pop-up with a link to the foster home application for you to submit.

• • After I receive your completed foster home application, you will receive one of two emails:
    • Option 1: Question(s) about a response on your application
    • Option 2: Welcome Aboard email

Make sure you complete the Foster Home orientation AND the final foster application!  Without these 2 items, your application is incomplete.

Thank you for wanting to volunteer; we’re excited to have you join us.  Below are the steps for becoming a volunteer.

To get started, please follow these steps:

1. Watch the Volunteer Orientation Presentation here: Volunteer Orientation Presentation
2. Complete the Volunteer Application at the end of the presentation
3. You will receive an automatic email, typically within 12 hours, confirming that your application has been received and required next steps.
4. Once backgrounds checks are clear, volunteers will receive a separate email with additional information (including how to sign-up for our in-person Volunteer Tours).

We will be onboarding new volunteers from the list of completed applications based on the current shelter needs (areas and times) with preference going to the order that people applied.

For example, if we need Dog Adoption Room volunteers on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, we will contact people who marked that they are interested in volunteering with dogs and are available on Tuesday and/or Wednesday mornings.
