Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the shelter!
Below is information on our volunteer orientations, which are held at the
shelter.
**Reservations are required for all
orientations. Please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 352-2510 x1009 or
email her
to make a reservation.**
General
Volunteer Orientation (lasts 1-1½ hours)
Our
shelter is very fortunate to have lots of people who wish to help the
animals in our community. At this time, our need is for kennel volunteers
Tue-Fri between 9:30am-2pm. If you can volunteer during this time, we have
the following orientation available:
1 session on
Thursday, May 24 at *10 am
When we have openings for late afternoon and Saturday volunteers, we will
schedule an orientation for that group.
Upcoming orientations will be posted at
www.jointanimalservices.org/orientation.htm.
Foster Home ONLY
Orientation (lasts 20-30 minutes)
1 session on
Wednesday, May 16 at *6:00 pm
(We will open the front doors at 5:55 pm for the Foster Home orientation.)
*We
are unable to allow late entry into an orientation. If you are not
able to make it to the beginning of an orientation, please come to another
session. Children under 14 must be accompanied by their adult volunteer
partners at all times.
If after the
orientation you feel that fostering would be a good fit
for you, please submit a volunteer application. (Applications are handed
out at the orientation.)
It takes a
couple weeks to process your application and background check. We will then
contact you to schedule your home check.
